About the Role
Provides general nursing care in an oncology setting, supporting patient flow and assisting physicians during examinations and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Administers medications and treatments following nursing standards.
- Observes, records, and reports patient conditions and reactions.
- Assists with specimen collection, performs EKGs and oxymetry readings.
- Prepares equipment and supports patient education on medications and treatments.
- Records vital signs, medication changes, and patient data.
- Handles phone communications, prescriptions, and maintains patient records.
- Initiates IV fluids and medications per practice guidelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate from accredited practical nursing program.
- Current state LPN license and registration.
- 0-3 years of practical nursing experience; phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
Physical & Work Environment
- Requires full body motion, manual dexterity, and ability to handle patients and equipment.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and typical oncology clinic conditions.
