Part-Time Lecturer(s) Pool in Social Work
About the role
The Department of Social Work invites applications for part time instructors. The person(s) appointed to these positions will teach one or more graduate level courses in Social Work Practice or will serve as faculty field liaison for Field Practicum courses.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary university representative in collaborations involving field instructors and students in practicum.
- Visit assigned students and field instructors in their agency settings.
- Provide consultation and collaboration.
- Review students’ learning contracts.
- Aid in the evaluation of student performance.
- Facilitate integrative field seminars on a bi-weekly basis.
- Participate in student field orientations and field instructor training.
Requirements
- Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree and a minimum of two years post-MSW practice experience.
- Prior teaching or training experience.
- Demonstrated competence working with a diverse group of people.
- Flexibility and control over personal schedule and personal transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance are required for field liaison assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of post-MSW practice experience that includes supervisory responsibilities.
- Prior teaching experience at the college level.

Pay
Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules are prorated based on the number of units assigned and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
