About the role

The Mechanical Engineering Department at Cal Poly invites applications for possible temporary part-time position(s) available as determined by need for the 2026-27 academic year. Teaching assignments will be in fundamental or advanced mechanical engineering courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach fundamental or advanced mechanical engineering courses.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Ensure student-centered learning and teaching.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language.

Qualifications

  • A graduate degree is preferred.
  • Experience in teaching and/or industrial settings is preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.

Skills

  • Proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Experience in teaching mechanical engineering courses.
