About the role
The English Department, College of Liberal Arts, at the Cal Poly Solano Campus of California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers. Positions are available as determined by need and funding during Fall and/or Spring semesters of the 2026 - 2027 academic year, which begins August 17, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teaching first-year composition
- Taught advanced composition (including classes for multilingual learners)
- Teaching technical and professional writing
- Teaching linguistics
- Teaching creative writing
- Teaching some General Education literature classes
Requirements
- M.A. in English (or equivalent) or M.F.A.
- Demonstrated college teaching experience
Qualifications
- Experience teaching composition
- Fostering a respectful, collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment
Skills
- Ability to teach a diverse population
Benefits
Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience, and time base.
Pay
- Lecturer A: $5,507-$6,677
- Lecturer B: $6,221-$13,224
- Lecturer C: $6,825-$14,523
- Lecturer D: $8,593-$15,221
