Part-Time Lecturer in Piano

About the role

The University of Louisville School of Music seeks an outstanding candidate to serve as Lecturer in Piano to begin by August 1, 2026. This is a 10-month part-time faculty position that will hold the rank of part-time lecturer.

Responsibilities

• Teaching applied piano
• Teaching piano pedagogy
• Coaching chamber music
• Involvement in convocations, area meetings, studio classes, end-of-semester area juries, auditions, recruiting, and other matters pertaining to the applied area in question
• Offering instrument specific repertoire or pedagogy classes only when at least one of the enrolled students must take the course to fulfill a degree requirement

Qualifications

• Professional level performance ability
• Successful private teaching experience
• A minimum of a Bachelor of Music, plus professional experience is required

This is a non-tenurable appointment and does not include health benefits.
