Part-Time Lecturer in Bassoon

About the role

The University of Louisville School of Music seeks an outstanding candidate to serve as Lecturer in Bassoon to begin by August 3, 2026. This is a 10-month part-time position that will hold the rank of part-time lecturer.

Responsibilities

• Teaching applied bassoon
• Weekly reed class
• Performing with the faculty woodwind quintet
• Opportunities to coach chamber music or teach specific repertoire or pedagogy classes (when necessary)
• Involved in convocations, area meetings, studio classes, end-of-semester area juries, auditions, and other matters pertaining to the applied area in question
• Possibility of offering instrument-specific repertoire or pedagogy classes when at least one student must take the course to fulfill a degree requirement

Requirements

• Professional level performance ability
• Successful private teaching experience
• A minimum of a Bachelor of Music, plus professional experience is required
