Part Time Lecturer

About the Role

The Eastern Michigan University School of Music & Dance invites applications for a Part-Time Lecturer in Dance. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Dance on an as-needed basis. This part-time, salaried appointment requires in-person instruction on Eastern Michigan University’s campus in Ypsilanti, Michigan and does not include benefits.

Responsibilities

• Teach Dance courses based on expertise and departmental needs.
• Meet with students during and outside of assigned classes.
• Assess student work and performance.
• Prepare syllabi and course materials, providing copies to supervisors upon request.
• Assign and submit grades in accordance with established university schedules.

Requirements

• MFA in Dance or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional experience in at least one modern dance company, with priority given to national (outside of Michigan) companies.
• Record of exceptional teaching, master classes, and guest residencies.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and educate the next generation of dance artists.
