About the role

The Department of Health & Sport Sciences invites applications for Part-Time Lecturer (PTL) teaching positions for undergraduate and/or graduate classes in the following content areas: Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Health Education, Physical Activity, Physical Education, Sport Administration, Youth Sports Instructors.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit a course syllabus in accordance with accreditation standards.
  • Provide developmentally meaningful feedback to students.
  • Present engaging learning experiences.
  • Respond to students in a timely manner.
  • Communicate regularly with the program director.
  • Maintain collegial and respectful relations with members of the UofL community and external stakeholders.
  • Submit course data (e.g., Hallmark Assessment Tasks, midterm progress reports) and final grades within university deadlines.
  • Comply with other university requests as a part-time instructor.

Requirements

  • A doctorate or master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
  • Additional qualifications may include:
    • Work experience in the field
    • Specialized training in the field
    • Funded grants in field
    • Published/presented research or activity in field
    • Prior teaching experience in field
    • Professional licensure/certification in field
    • Honors and awards (related to field)
