Part-Time Leasing Consultant
About the Role
Leasing is a sales job. The consultants who outperform their peers on traffic-to-lease ratios qualify fast, follow up relentlessly, and close with urgency. This part-time Leasing Consultant role at PeakMade Real Estate prioritizes a skill set aligned with conversion metrics and disciplined outreach.
Skills
This role relies on multi-touch outreach—calls, emails, texts—timed and personalized to avoid lost leases. Strong candidates will demonstrate a history of follow-up discipline, not just interpersonal skills. CRM fluency is critical, with platforms like Yardi, Entrata, or RealPage used to track pipeline and identify stalled leads. The tour itself is a sales conversation: identifying needs, creating urgency, and handling objections. At least one year of leasing or sales experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Convert inbound and outbound leads across phone, digital, and in-person channels
- Deliver tours that move prospects toward a decision
- Maintain current knowledge of pricing, unit availability, and competing properties
- Handle accurate lease paperwork, deposit collection, and CRM data entry
- Support move-in and move-out events and contribute to the annual turn process
- Assist with market surveys to sharpen competitive positioning
Market Context
East Lansing is a student-housing market tied to Michigan State’s academic calendar. Traffic spikes early, and consultants who build pipelines in fall and winter achieve strong occupancy by spring. Seasonal urgency and clear communication are key—availability windows are tight, and prospects need accurate information quickly.
Benefits
- Commission-eligible earnings tied to close rate
- Housing discounts (varies by community)
- 401(k) match
- Internal development opportunities for advancement to full-time or senior leasing roles
Schedule
Part-time, including weekends and peak leasing hours. Availability during high-traffic periods is critical for impact.
