About the Role

The Laboratory Technician I performs testing activities as directed by the applicable Supervisor in accordance with all applicable company and regulatory guidelines and supports laboratory operations by maintaining systems. The role receives sufficient authority from, and is accountable to, the applicable Supervisor or appointed designate for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing activities as directed by Environmental Lab Supervisor, Monograph Supervisor, Lab Supervisor, or Food Chemistry Supervisor in accordance with all applicable company and regulatory guidelines.
• Utilize wet chemistry techniques including gravimetry, titrimetry, colorimetry, and others as needed.
• Maintain neat and accurate records.
• Enter testing data into LIMS and monitor for QC failures.
• Monitor and record environmental conditions in the laboratory. Alert management of any out-of-tolerance findings.
• Perform calibrations/checks of laboratory equipment.
• Maintain glassware inventory for laboratory use.
• Maintain chemical/reagent traceability.
• Assist with maintenance of chemical/supply inventory.
• Support quality system improvements through completion of Corrective and Preventive Action forms, documenting Non-Conformances, and assisting with internal audit findings as assigned.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Chemistry or related field, or equivalent background in Chemistry.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025, DEA, EPA, FDA, and related guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a chemistry laboratory.
