Responsibilities
The Laboratory Technician I performs testing activities as directed by the applicable Supervisor in accordance with all applicable company and regulatory guidelines and supports laboratory operations by maintaining systems.
- Perform testing activities as directed by Environmental Lab Supervisor, Monograph Supervisor, Lab Supervisor, or Food Chemistry Supervisor in accordance with all applicable company and regulatory guidelines.
- Wet chemistry techniques utilized will include gravimetry, titrimetry, colorimetry and others as needed.
- Maintain neat and accurate records.
- Enter testing data into LIMS and monitor for QC failures.
- Monitor and record environmental conditions in laboratory.
- Alert management of any out of tolerance findings.
- Perform calibrations/checks of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain glassware inventory for laboratory use.
- Maintain chemical/reagent traceability.
- Assist with maintenance of chemical/supply inventory.
- Support quality system improvements through completion of Corrective and Preventive Action forms, documenting Non-Conformances and assisting with internal audit findings as assigned by Environmental Lab Supervisor, Monograph Supervisor, Lab Supervisor, or Food Chemistry Team Lead.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ) To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Education/Experience (BMQ): Associates Degree in Chemistry or related field or equivalent background in Chemistry.
- Certificates and/or Licenses (BMQ): NA
- Supervisory Responsibility: NA
- Ability and/or Skills (BMQ): NA
- Other Factors: Knowledge of ISO 17025, DEA, EPA, FDA and related guidance.
- Additional Preferences: At least 1 year experience in chemistry laboratory.
