Part-Time K-5th Grade ELA Literacy Tutor (Half Moon Bay, CA) - Fall 2026

About the role

Study Smart Tutors is a college and career access organization dedicated to promoting educational equity, access, and success. We achieve this by providing high-quality, culturally responsive academic support through various tools and partnerships with schools, outreach programs, and other organizations.

Job Responsibilities

• Subjects to be taught: ELA Literacy
• Provide tutoring support to small and large groups of students.
• Have access to information about class assignments.
• Adapt to new materials and teaching strategies.
• Maintain consistent communication with Study Smart Tutors staff.
• Partner with Study Smart Tutor’s Education team to provide comprehensive learning strategies to all students.

Qualifications

• MUST hold a completed 4-year degree.
• Teaching or tutoring experience is strongly desired.
• In-person availability is required.
• Bilingual (Spanish) or strong experience working with ELD populations preferred.
• Complete and pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting based on location.

Pay and Benefits

• Earn excellent rate of pay: $40 per hour.
• Paid Onboarding/Training/Preparation/Support: $22.00 per hour.
• 401(k).
