Part-Time 1st-5th Grade ELA Literacy Tutor (Pacifica, CA) - Fall 2026

About the role

Study Smart Tutors is a college and career access organization committed to promoting educational equity, access, and success. We achieve this by offering free college access courses to students and families, and by collaborating with schools, outreach programs, and other organizations to provide high-quality academic support.

Responsibilities

• Subjects to be taught: ELA Literacy
• Provide tutoring support to small and large groups of students
• Have access to information about class assignments
• Adapt to new materials and teaching strategies
• Maintain consistent communication with Study Smart Tutors staff
• Partner with Study Smart Tutor’s Education team to provide comprehensive learning strategies to all students

Qualifications

• MUST hold a completed 4-year degree
• Tutoring or teaching experience is strongly desired
• In-person availability is required
• Complete and pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting based on location

Benefits

• Excellent rate of pay: $40 per hour
• Paid Onboarding/ Training / Preparation / Support: $22.00 per hour
