Part Time Instructor - Sterile Processing Technician

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, teach, grade, and assess student learning in assigned courses.
  • Create and model a quality learning environment supporting a diverse student population, including students with disabilities or special learning needs.
  • Maintain student records and provide documentation for incompletes within established College timelines.
  • Utilize technology-based programs to access and input information related to student records and college processes.
  • Assist students with registration, advising, and graduation processes.
  • Structure classes and curriculum to align with program and course outcomes.
  • Prepare, distribute, and utilize instructional support materials, including syllabi, supplementary materials, and instructional media.
  • Convene classes as scheduled and respond to student inquiries.
  • Assist students outside the classroom through posted office hours.
  • Attend in-service sessions, college meetings, graduation, and convocation as required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current CBSPD (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification.
  • Two years of recent Sterile Processing experience.
  • Sterile Processing teaching or training experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to relate to and instruct a non-traditional, diverse student population.
  • Working knowledge of current developments in the sterile processing field.
  • Ability to utilize a variety of teaching methods, including lecture, collaborative learning, and individualized instruction.
  • Ability to relate and explain complex subject matter at the community college level.
