Part-time Instructor (Pool) - Theater & Dance
Theatre and Dance at Austin Peay State University is seeking temporary, part-time adjunct faculty in Theatre, Musical Theatre, Design, and Dance.
About the role
The department is located in the Trahern Building and the Memorial Health Building, producing six shows per season including two plays, two musicals, and two dance concerts. The Trahern building includes the Margaret Fort Trahern Laboratory Theatre and the Trahern Theatre (Proscenium), along with an acting studio and dance studio. The Memorial Health building features two large dance studios. The Department of Theatre and Dance is part of the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA), which enhances the cultural environment of the university, community, and region through diverse arts experiences.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in Theatre, Musical Theatre, Design, and Dance.
- Develop and deliver engaging and effective lesson plans.
- Assess student learning and provide feedback.
- Participate in departmental meetings and activities.
- Collaborate with other faculty members on interdisciplinary projects.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Theatre, Musical Theatre, Design, or Dance.
- Experience teaching at the college level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
