About the role

Under administrative leadership, part-time faculty support the advancement of the visions, missions, and values of Grossmont and Cuyamaca Colleges and the District. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, student evaluation, curriculum development, student advising, professional development, and any assignment-specific needs.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned dance courses in accordance with the course outline of record.
  • Evaluate and assess student performance and progress.
  • Develop and update curriculum as needed.
  • Advise students on academic and career matters related to dance.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Fulfill any additional duties specific to the assignment.

Requirements

  • Master’s in dance, physical education with a dance emphasis, or theater with a dance emphasis;
  • OR Bachelor’s in dance, physical education with a dance emphasis, or theater with a dance emphasis AND Master’s in physical education, any life science, physiology, theater arts, kinesiology, humanities, performing arts, or music;
  • OR the equivalent.

Working Conditions

Faculty positions may require long periods of standing and walking in a typical classroom setting. Specific conditions may vary by subject taught.

Pay

Starting salary range: $70.84 – $86.11 per hour (Class II, step 1 to Class VI, step 1) based on the Adjunct, Overload and Substitute Salary Schedule.
