Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach didactic courses and clinical rotations as assigned.
- Deliver well-prepared, organized, and clear lectures and activities tailored for both in-person and online formats.
- Develop and submit course syllabi for all assigned courses, ensuring inclusion of all required components and tailored to the instructional modality utilized (online or face-to-face).
- Utilize technology, including but not limited to Canvas, Starfish, MS Office, and the Internet, for classroom, studio, and laboratory instruction.
- Provide students with timely and accurate information and feedback regarding their academic progress, using assessments such as quizzes, tests, homework, and projects.
- Supervise patient care, physical assessments, and the administration of medications.
- Collaborate with the Nursing Program Director regarding student performance.
- Provide ongoing and timely feedback to students regarding clinical performance, paperwork, and documentation.
- Maintain student and client information in a confidential manner.
- Plan student assignments in relation to the student’s level and the course objectives.
- Aid students to acquire appropriate knowledge, skills, and attitudes required of professional nurses.
- Communicate clearly with students and colleagues.
- Establish and maintain an effective learning environment in the clinical setting.

- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent and continuous sitting/moving about.
- Continuous use of fine motor skills.
- Lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 35 lbs.
Schedule Details
- Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours and maximum of 29 hours per week.
- Clinical shifts are 0600-1500 or 1400-2300.
- Scheduling of shifts is based on program need.
- Additional hours outside of clinical shifts are required for grading.
Qualifications
- The successful applicant will hold a State of New Mexico or Compact State RN license with two years recent professional experience as an RN.
- Five (5) years of recent bedside nursing experience.
- Faculty without a BSN may be employed for one year, provided they enroll in a BSN or MSN program and demonstrate ongoing progress toward completion within five years.
- Strong commitment to quality teaching, student success, and academic excellence is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master of Science in Nursing degree.
- Teaching experience in a community college or technical school.
