Part Time Instructor - Aviation Maintenance Technology

Faculty provide high-quality instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners so each student may meet course outcomes and achieve their educational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, teach, grade, and assess student learning in assigned courses.
  • Create and model a quality learning environment supporting a diverse student population, including students with disabilities or special learning needs.
  • Maintain student records and provide documentation for incompletes within established College timelines.
  • Utilize technology-based programs to access and input information related to student records and college processes.
  • Assist students with registration, advising, and graduation processes.
  • Structure classes and curriculum to align with program and course outcomes.
  • Prepare, distribute, and utilize instructional support materials, including syllabi, supplementary materials, and instructional media.
  • Convene classes as scheduled and respond to student inquiries.
  • Assist students outside the classroom through posted office hours.
  • Attend in-service sessions, college meetings, graduation, and convocation as required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • FAA Certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic License (must possess at time of interview).
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferences

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation, Education, or related field.
  • Teaching, mentoring, or training experience in a FAA-approved Part 147 A&P Mechanic Training program.
  • Experience teaching or mentoring a diverse student population.
  • 3–5 years of Aircraft Maintenance experience.

Being hired into the regular part-time instructor pool is not a guarantee of employment. Classes are assigned on an as-needed basis, with hours varying each term based on student enrollment.
