About the Role

As a Hospice Chaplain, you will provide compassionate spiritual support to patients and their caregivers, fostering a sense of peace and comfort during end-of-life care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide spiritual support to patients and caregivers.
  • Develop and maintain a clergy resource group.
  • Act as a liaison between hospice and the community.
  • Document visits and spiritual care interventions.
  • Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure holistic care.
  • Supervise and support bereavement volunteers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in religion, human services, theology, or philosophy; or ordained minister with a counseling emphasis.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree or certification in hospital or pastoral ministry.

Skills & Competencies

  • Experience in therapeutic methods for individuals, groups, and families in crisis, particularly around death and grief.
  • Open, flexible, and ecumenical approach to spiritual care.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to train and supervise bereavement volunteers.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Mandatory background checks and adherence to a drug-free workplace.
