Part Time General Medicine Nurse

Role Overview

This position involves providing direct patient care within the General Medicine unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. The nurse promotes patient and family-centered care, educates on illness management, and ensures safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Collaboration with the healthcare team to develop and communicate individualized care plans is essential. The role requires assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences and cultural considerations, and maintaining safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient needs, develop and implement care plans, and document progress
• Educate patients and families on post-treatment care and medication management
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care

Qualifications & Skills

• Licensed RN with a Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree; Bachelor's preferred
• No prior experience required, but 2+ years of nursing experience is preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills
• Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment with alertness and professionalism

Additional Requirements

• Preferred: BSN degree and Med Surg experience
