Part Time Food Service Support

About the role

This position is responsible for various duties as a member of the food services team to provide nutritional meals and safeguard the health of residential clients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves food in accordance with established menus
• Monitors the use of food and prepares additional quantities as needed
• Properly stores dietary supplies according to department procedures
• Notes any safety issues requiring immediate notification of Program Coordinator or School Office
• Participates in Monthly Environment of Care inspections and ensures compliance with Joint Commission Standards of care

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; additional training in food preparation preferred
• Must be able to read at a 12th grade level
• At least one year of food preparation experience in an institutional setting; previous experience with the National Lunch Program is preferred
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds, walk, run, stoop, kneel, push/pull, and reach above shoulders

Other requirements:

• Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings including: Drug Screen, Physical, Physical Abilities Test, TB Test, and Influenza Vaccine
• Valid driver's license
• Completion of The Diana Screen (a screening assessing appropriate boundaries between adults and children)
