Part-time Fitness Center Attendant

About the role

The City of Florissant is seeking a part-time Fitness Center Attendant to monitor the Fitness Center, assist in supporting and enforcing rules, regulations, and safety of patrons.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and members in a friendly manner
• Maintain safety of patrons at all times
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by monitoring the facility constantly and addressing any safety or cleanliness issues immediately
• Provide cleaning and basic maintenance to the equipment and the fitness area
• Enforce fitness center rules and regulations
• Report problems or equipment issues immediately to the full‑time supervisor
• Give suggestions to improve operations to the supervisor
• Instruct patrons on machine operation
• Record attendance figures
• Perform other duties as directed

This is a safety‑sensitive position.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 16 years
• Working knowledge of exercise equipment
• High School Diploma or in the process of obtaining a high school diploma or GED
• Some college is preferred
• Obtain CPR Certification by a nationally accredited organization within 60 days of hire
• Obtain AED Certification by a nationally accredited organization within 60 days of hire
• Obtain First Aid Certification by a nationally accredited organization within 60 days of hire

Pay

Hourly rate: $15.35

Schedule

Part‑time position, not to exceed 28 hours weekly. This position is posted year‑round and filled as needed.
