(Part-Time): Fighter Pilot Subject Matter Expert (SME)

About the role

Hoplite Group is seeking a Fighter Pilot Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a U.S. Government building partner capacity effort focused on strengthening a partner nation’s combat aviation capabilities through operational advising, analysis, training, and sustainment planning.

Responsibilities

• Support combat aviation capability development efforts through operational analysis, planning, training, and sustainment advisory support.
• Provide operational advising, analysis, training, and sustainment planning for partner nation combat aviation.

Requirements

• Location: Remote support (CONUS) and forward engagements (OCONUS) as part of a U.S. Government advising effort.
• Level of effort: Approximately 30–50 hours/month during non‑travel months; 80–90 hours/month during travel months.
• Initial travel anticipated October 2026.
• Availability: Immediate.

Qualifications

• Retired O‑6 with experience commanding at the Squadron, Group, or Wing level.
• Experience as an F‑16, F/A‑18, or F‑35 pilot.
• Understanding of U.S. defense planning and strategy development.
• Experience with operational analysis, readiness reporting, and doctrine or CONOPS development.
• Experience supporting combat aircraft operations planning and strategy development.
• Experience evaluating operational plans and operational risk.
• Graduate of SAASS, SAMS, SAW, or similar advanced military planning program.
• Experience supporting aviation capability development or institutional capacity‑building efforts.
• Active US Secret Security clearance.
