Duties And Responsibilities
- Developing the course syllabus and ensuring it meets departmental and University standards
- Assigning early, midterm, and final grades in compliance with University deadlines
- Maintaining office hours as directed by the department chair or program director
- Making student accommodations as determined by the Office of Student Accessibility Services
- Adhering to all instructional policies as published in the Faculty Handbook and the Courses of Study Bulletin
- Supervising internships in EC-12 contexts
- Providing coaching and feedback to graduate students/interns in teaching on teaching and classroom practice
- Giving guidance for working in schools and professional settings, including classrooms, departments, team, and other professional communities
- Conducting performance-based assessment (professional skills and dispositions, mastery portfolio)
- Coaching for skill development and mastery
- Providing informal and formal assessments and feedback
- Conducting formal and informal checkpoint conferences
Qualifications
- Master's degree in education
- At least 3 years of EC-12 teaching in a Texas public school
- Texas Teacher Certification
- Texas Leadership Certification
- T-TESS Certification
- Experience working with preservice teachers
- Advanced degree/coursework in educational leadership, curriculum, teaching
- Experience working in EC-12 settings
- Experience working in higher education with undergraduate students
- Experience working in higher education with graduate students
- Experience with professional development school partnerships
- Knowledge of curriculum and pedagogy in EC-12 contexts, esp. In Texas
- Experience supporting mentor teachers and coaching mentors/mentor-mentee relationships
