Responsibilities
- Instruct weekly class meetings during the Fall semester: Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:15–6:35 PM.
- Update the class syllabus.
- Prepare lectures, projects, or other student assignments.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.
- Present instruction based on course competencies and performance levels.
- Attend all designated class periods.
- Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to university regulations.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
- Build a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in music education (doctorate preferred).
- Evidence of exceptional scholarly writing skills, with the ability to edit and assist in the preparation of student work.
- Experience teaching at the collegiate level, particularly with non-native speaking students (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and knowledge of course content.
- Demonstrated pedagogical ability and the capacity to relate well in classroom and one-on-one environments with college-level students.
Preference will be given to applicants who can fulfill multiple positions within the Setnor School of Music.
