Part-Time Faculty - Modern Language (South)

About the role

Teaching Modern Languages and related course work on a part‑time, as‑needed basis. Positions are reviewed when openings become available and are not current vacancies.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses using various delivery methods based on teaching area and student needs.
• May require physical presence at the assigned on‑site work location.
• May include evening and weekend classes.
• Hired for the duration specified by the respective course.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or above in English and one other language.
• At least eighteen (18) graduate hours of content courses in the teaching field.
• Bilingual proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Ability to teach two languages, or English and one language with eighteen graduate hours in each (considered a plus).
• Prior college teaching experience preferred.
• Familiarity with the languages offered at San Jacinto College: Spanish, French, Chinese, German.

Pay

Salary Grade: AH; salary is based on the Board‑approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year (see Salary Schedule).

Schedule

• Portion of teaching assignment may be evening classes.
• Possibility of weekend classes.
• Faculty are hired on an “as needed” basis and work for the duration of the respective course.
