Position Overview
The Center for Clinical Skills and Assessments at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix seeks a faculty Clinical Skills Evaluator to teach and assess interviewing and physical exam skills for 1st and/or 2nd-year medical students using standardized patients (SP).
Key Responsibilities
- Attend all assigned Clinical Skills & Assessment sessions
- Teach patient-centered interviewing and physical exam skills
- Prepare for sessions through readings and video review
- Score students accurately and provide constructive feedback
- Utilize LearningSpace and SharePoint for evaluations and documentation
- Promote critical thinking and development of differential diagnoses
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or DO, Board Certified at time of appointment
- Licensed to practice medicine in Arizona
- Commitment to patient-centered care
- Ability to commit to one afternoon per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) during scheduled class sessions
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in remote or virtual teaching environments
- Academic teaching experience at the undergraduate medical student level
- Primary care specialty preferred
