Position Overview

The Center for Clinical Skills and Assessments at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix seeks a faculty Clinical Skills Evaluator to teach and assess interviewing and physical exam skills for 1st and/or 2nd-year medical students using standardized patients (SP).

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend all assigned Clinical Skills & Assessment sessions
  • Teach patient-centered interviewing and physical exam skills
  • Prepare for sessions through readings and video review
  • Score students accurately and provide constructive feedback
  • Utilize LearningSpace and SharePoint for evaluations and documentation
  • Promote critical thinking and development of differential diagnoses

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or DO, Board Certified at time of appointment
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Arizona
  • Commitment to patient-centered care
  • Ability to commit to one afternoon per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) during scheduled class sessions

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in remote or virtual teaching environments
  • Academic teaching experience at the undergraduate medical student level
  • Primary care specialty preferred
