Part-Time Faculty (MD, DO) - Simulation Center Instructor (College of Medicine-Phoenix)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Integrate SBT into all four years of the medical student curriculum.
  • Facilitate simulation based training events throughout the academic year.
  • Develop, review, and organize simulation scenarios for medical student education.
  • Coordinate facilitated debriefing sessions following each simulation scenario.
  • Assist with the recruitment and training of faculty volunteers.
  • Work closely with the simulation team to coordinate simulation based educational activities.
  • Participate in Student Interest GroupSimulation Activities throughout the academic year.
  • Attend curricular events and committee meetings as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Board Certification.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Arizona.
  • In good standing with the medical board of their specialty.
  • Dedicated to the delivery of patient-centered medicine.
  • Available to work a minimum of 25 hours in simulation per academic year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practicing clinician in a medical or surgical specialty.
  • Previous experience with medical student or graduate medical education.
  • Previous experience in teaching simulation.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills in a healthcare team setting.
  • Experience with remote/virtual environments using video conferencing software, preferably Zoom.

Physical Demands

  • Hear and listen attentively in a simulated environment.
  • Close vision and ability to work on computers.
  • Stand or sit and facilitate a simulation scenario for up to 5 hours at a time.
  • Perform procedures and participate in clinical maneuvers on mannequins and task trainers.
