Part-Time Faculty- Certified Nursing Assistant

Part-time faculty position located at the Glen Burnie Town Center campus. This role requires regular in-person presence on campus and at alternative locations, depending on class schedule and other assigned duties.

About the Role

Instructor is responsible for classroom and lab instruction in the Nursing Assistant field. The instructor will follow the provided curriculum outline and learning expectations, with content housed in Canvas (online learning platform). A desire to share knowledge of the Nursing field is essential.

Instructors must adhere to Anne Arundel Community College’s Adjunct Faculty Instructional policies and procedures, as well as the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials needed for instruction, labs, and supplies
• Provide basic lab maintenance and track inventory of equipment and tools
• Relate instruction and material to course objectives
• Discuss and demonstrate workplace safety, personal/patient safety, and infection control
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with students, other faculty, and staff
• Submit grades, attendance, reports, and records in a timely manner
• Evaluate student performance in classroom, skills lab, and clinical environments
• Experience teaching in online and face-to-face formats
• Prepare students to sit for the Nursing Assistant Certification through the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON)

Requirements

• Maryland Registered Nurse (BSN preferred)
• 2 years of Nursing Experience
• 1 year of experience caring for the elderly/chronically ill within the past 5 years (long-term care experience)
• 2 years of teaching experience or completion of the Principles of Adult Education (“Train the Trainer”) course (minimum of 16 hours)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience teaching CNA
• Registered Nurse with supervisory experience
• Bachelor's degree

$50/hour
