Responsibilities
- Perform routine care duties to ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of Sisters, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control, safety protocols, and body mechanics guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to meet Sisters' needs and support their participation in spiritual, social, grooming, and therapeutic activities.
- Observe, record, and report physiological, cognitive, and sensory data as directed by licensed nurses.
- Assist with department operations, including supply management and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Support new staff and volunteers, ensuring proper orientation and adherence to policies.
- Uphold confidentiality, privacy, and respect for all Sisters, honoring their preferences and choices.
- Participate in ongoing education, team meetings, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Current Texas Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification and BLS certification required.
- Previous gerontology experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, patience, emotional maturity, and the ability to handle repetitive tasks tactfully.
- Ability to work all shifts on a part-time basis.
- Adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
