Part-Time Faculty- Central Sterile Processing

Position Summary

Part time faculty position located at the Arnold campus. Instructor is responsible for classroom and lab instruction in the Sterile Processing field. The instructor is to follow the curriculum outline and learning expectations as provided. Content is housed in Canvas (online learning platform). Instructor must have some computer experience, expertise in the sterile processing field or higher and the ability to effectively manage a classroom. Prior teaching experience is not required. A desire to share your knowledge of the sterile processing field is a must!

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepare materials needed for instruction, labs, and supplies;
• Relate instruction and material to course objectives;
• Discuss and demonstrate workplace safety, personal/patient safety and infection control;
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with students, other faculty and staff;
• Submit grades, attendance, reports and records in a timely manner;
• Evaluate student performance in classroom, skills lab and clinical environments;
• Prepare students to sit for the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) exam.

Required Qualifications

• Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) certification is required;
• 3 years Sterile Processing experience is required;

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience teaching sterile processing preferred;
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) supervisory experience is preferred;
