Part-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician

McDaniels Auto Group – Columbia, SC Part-Time | Up to 30 Hours per Week McDaniels Auto Group is seeking an experienced Part-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician to assist with the general upkeep, troubleshooting, and minor repair needs of our dealership facilities. This position will be based primarily in Columbia, SC, with occasional travel to other McDaniels Auto Group locations as needed. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, can diagnose common building maintenance issues, and knows the difference between a repair they can safely handle and one that needs to be referred to a licensed or specialized vendor. This could be an excellent opportunity for an experienced or retired maintenance professional, tradesman, or facilities technician looking for steady part-time work without a full-time schedule. Responsibilities Perform general building and facility maintenance and minor repairsTroubleshoot and diagnose basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issuesComplete repairs within your experience and capabilitiesIdentify issues requiring specialized service and coordinate with outside vendors when appropriatePerform small painting and touch-up projectsReplace HVAC air filters and perform other routine preventive maintenanceComplete minor fixture, hardware, door, and facility repairsRespond to maintenance needs at dealership locationsHelp identify developing maintenance problems before they become larger repairsCommunicate repair needs, recommendations, and vendor requirements to managementMaintain a safe, clean work areaOccasionally travel between McDaniels Auto Group locations Qualifications Previous professional experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or a related tradeWorking knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systemsAbility to troubleshoot problems and determine an appropriate course of actionComfortable completing minor repairs and maintenance independentlyMust own and be able to use basic hand and power tools necessary for the positionAbility to perform light physical work, use ladders, and safely perform typical maintenance dutiesDependable, self-directed, and able to manage assigned work with limited supervisionValid driver's license and reliable transportationAbility to occasionally travel to other company locations (hourly wage and mileage reimbursement applies for occasional travel, or per diem) Schedule Part-time – 30 hours per week or lessPrimarily based in Columbia, SCSchedule may vary depending on maintenance needsOccasional travel to other McDaniels Auto Group locations will be required About McDaniels Auto Group McDaniels Auto Group is a multi-location automotive dealership group with operations throughout South Carolina and Georgia.
