Part-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician
Description
Don Johnson Auto Group is seeking a skilled Part-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and improvement of their dealership facilities in Northwest Wisconsin. The role involves a variety of tasks including diagnosing and completing facility repairs, performing general carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, lighting, doors, and hardware repairs, and completing preventive maintenance.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and complete facility repairs and maintenance
- Perform general carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, lighting, doors, hardware, and other building repairs
- Complete preventive maintenance and identify problems before they become bigger issues
- Prioritize multiple requests based on safety, urgency, and business impact
- Complete projects independently from start to finish
- Travel between dealership locations as needed
- Cook up with outside contractors when specialized work is required
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas
- Communicate progress, changing timelines, and material needs
- Assist with facility improvements and seasonal maintenance
What We're Looking For
You don't need to know everything, but you do need to be skilled, dependable, and resourceful. Successful candidates will have hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, construction, property maintenance, or the skilled trades. They should be comfortable troubleshooting and solving problems independently, producing quality work they are proud to put their name on, staying productive without constant supervision, organizing competing priorities and following through on commitments, being flexible when schedules and priorities change, communicating well when timelines or needs change, being trustworthy and dependable, working safely and using good judgment, having a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, and being able to safely perform the physical duties of facility maintenance, including lifting and ladder use. Experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, or commercial facilities is a plus. Trade certifications are welcome but not required. Demonstrated ability, judgment, and work ethic matter more to us than the perfect resume.
