Part Time English & Social Studies Teacher 1-to-1 Education

About the role

At Brightmont Academy, you will teach students one-on-one in grades 1–12, focusing on personalized instruction without lesson planning, parent conferences, or grading. The role emphasizes inspiring students and supporting their academic success through a gradual release approach.

Responsibilities

• Teach students one-on-one, tailoring lessons to their unique needs and learning styles
• Guide students to mastery using a gradual release approach that builds confidence and academic success
• Focus on inspiring students without the burden of lesson planning, parent conferences, or endless grading
• Participate in professional development opportunities to grow your teaching career

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Social Studies, History, Government, Economics, or a related subject area
• Patience and empathy: understanding that every student learns differently and committing to support them
• A genuine passion for teaching and sharing your subject with the next generation
• Proficiency using G‑Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS)
• Ability to provide fingerprints (AZ, WA only) and pass a federal background check

Qualifications

• Orton Gillingham training (bonus)
• Teaching certification (nice to have, not required)
• Advanced degree in a specific subject area of expertise (bonus)
• Previous one‑to‑one teaching experience (bonus)

Skills

• Proficient with G‑Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS)

Pay

$22–$25 per hour
