Part Time English & Social Studies Teacher 1-to-1 Education

About the role

Brightmont Academy provides personalized one‑to‑one instruction for students in grades 1–12. As a Part‑Time English & Social Studies Teacher you will work with a single student at a time, tailoring lessons to their unique needs and learning styles. The position requires no lesson planning, parent conferences, or grading, allowing you to focus solely on inspiring your student.

Responsibilities

• Teach students one‑on‑one, customizing instruction to each learner’s needs and style.
• Guide students toward mastery using a gradual‑release approach that builds confidence and academic success.
• Deliver instruction without additional duties such as lesson planning, parent conferences, or extensive grading.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area (English, Social Studies, History, Government, Economics, or related field).
• Patience and empathy for diverse learning styles.
• A genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject knowledge.
• Proficiency with G‑Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS).
• Ability to provide fingerprints (AZ, WA only) and pass a federal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Orton‑Gillingham training.
• Teaching certification (nice to have, not required).
• Advanced degree in a specific subject area of expertise.
• Previous one‑to‑one teaching experience.

Pay

$22‑24 per hour
