Part-Time EKG Technician

About the role

The Journey ECG Tech performs electrocardiograms (ECGs), rhythm strips, and cardiac monitoring with accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities include ensuring equipment functionality, supporting patient care during cardiac emergencies, managing holter monitor processes, and providing patient education. The role requires maintaining a clean work environment, developing proficiency in cardiac rhythms, and holding a TEE probe cleaning certification. The technician is in the process of obtaining a Certified Cardiographic Technician certificate.

Responsibilities

• Perform ECGs and rhythm strips accurately
• Support patient care during cardiac emergencies/events
• Manage holter monitor processes
• Ensure equipment functionality, maintenance, and cleanliness
• Provide patient education on procedures and rhythms
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Develop proficiency in cardiac rhythms
• Hold TEE probe cleaning certification
• Progress toward Certified Cardiographic Technician certificate

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• TEE probe cleaning certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire
• At least 1 year of ECG/EKG experience or as an Associate ECG technician

Preferred Qualifications

• In progress of Certified Cardiographic Technician certification
• Experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, Medical Assistant, or related health field
• Hospital or clinic-based exercise testing and telemetry experience
