Part-Time EKG Technician

About the Role

The Journey ECG Tech performs accurate electrocardiograms (ECGs), rhythm strips, and cardiac monitoring tasks. Responsibilities include ensuring equipment functionality, supporting patient care during cardiac emergencies, managing holter monitor processes, and providing patient education. Developing proficiency in cardiac rhythms is essential. The role requires TEE probe cleaning certification and ongoing pursuit of a Certified Cardiographic Technician credential.

• Performing and supporting cardiac monitoring procedures
• Maintaining equipment and work environment
• Supporting patient education and emergency response
• Developing expertise in cardiac rhythms and related certifications

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• TEE Probe cleaning certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• At least 1 year of ECG/EKG experience or as an Associate ECG technician

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months in Emergency Medical Services, Medical Assisting, or related fields
• 6 months hospital or clinic-based exercise testing
• Telemetry experience and knowledge of heart rhythms
• In process of obtaining Certified Cardiographic Technician certification
