Part Time Educator - Springfield Public Schools
Right At School provides local school districts with before and after school extended day programs focused on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment to support the success of all students. About the role
As an Educator, you will drive the mission by organizing and facilitating daily activities, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment, and communicating effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
Responsibilities
- Participate in daily program meetings to review goals, share ideas, and encourage collaboration.
- Organize and facilitate structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum that are educational and enjoyable for all ages.
- Lead by example to maintain a safe and nurturing environment, modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
- Prioritize safety by monitoring the environment, addressing hazards, and following safety protocols, including documenting attendance and incidents.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living.
- Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed.
- Meet state-specific requirements for Massachusetts:
- First Aid and CPR (in-person certification).
- Cleared tuberculosis test.
- Proof of MMR vaccination.
- 18+ years of age.
- One of the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with 3 months of experience working with school-age children.
- High school diploma or equivalent with 6 months of experience working with school-age children, including 3 months of supervised experience at a school-age child care program.
- Nine months of experience with school-age children, including 3 months of supervised experience at a school-age child care program.
Skills
- Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
Pay
$16.00–$19.00 per hour (based on education and experience).
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–6:00 PM.
