Part Time Educator - Elgin School District
Position Details
Location: Candidates should be open to working at any of the below mentioned schools we partner with Elgin U-46 School District, which has schools located in Elgin, South Elgin, Bartlett, Streamwood, Hanover Park, Wayne, Hoffman Estates and Carol Stream.
Educator Pay Rate: $15-18/hour (based on education and experience)
Program Hours: Mon-Fri: 1:45 PM-6:00 PM
We are looking for candidates who are available to work all five days for one or both shifts. We cannot accommodate partial shifts at this time.
Required
- At least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least one year of experience working with children 5-13 years of age in a formal group childcare setting (preferred)
What You'll Drive The Mission By
- Daily Program Meetings: Each day, review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
- Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring they align with the program’s objectives. Organize and lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum; that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children are enjoying themselves while also meeting program goals. You will achieve this by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
- Prioritize Safety and Joy: Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols. These may include documenting attendance, incidents, and other observations.
Communication
You will achieve this by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
Qualifications
- Works well in a team environment
- Ability to lift 25lbs
- Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed
IL Requirements
- Ability to meet state-specific requirements
- First Aid and CPR-in-person
- Cleared tuberculosis test
- 18+ years of age
- Proof of High School diploma/GED required
