Part Time Educator - Springfield Public Schools

Right At School provides local school districts with before and after school extended-day programs focused on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment to support the success of all students. Our mission is to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and give families peace of mind by building a team of mission-driven individuals passionate about fostering safe, engaging experiences for children.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily program meetings to review goals, share ideas, discuss professional progress, and encourage team collaboration and accountability.
• Organize and facilitate daily activities and curriculum aligned with program objectives, including structured fitness, educational, and enjoyable activities for all ages.
• Lead by example to maintain a safe and nurturing environment, modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
• Prioritize safety and joy by monitoring the environment, addressing hazards, and following safety protocols, including documenting attendance, incidents, and observations.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living.
• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed.
• Ability to meet state-specific requirements, including:
  • First Aid and CPR (in-person certification).
  • Cleared tuberculosis test.
  • Proof of MMR vaccination.
  • 18+ years of age.
• Education and experience requirements for Massachusetts:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with 3 months of experience working with school-age children; OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 6 months of experience working with school-age children, including 3 months of supervised experience at a school-age child care program; OR
  • Nine months of experience with school-age children, including 3 months of supervised experience at a school-age child care program.

Pay

$16.00–$19.00 per hour (based on education and experience).

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–6:00 PM.
