About the role

Educator Right At School provides before and after school extended day programs focusing on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment. Our mission is to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and give families peace of mind by building a team of mission-driven individuals passionate about fostering a love of learning and creating safe, engaging experiences for children.

Responsibilities

  • Daily Program Meetings: Review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
  • Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
  • Lead by Example: Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children enjoy themselves while meeting program goals.
  • Monitor Environment: Address potential hazards, follow safety protocols, document attendance, incidents, and observations.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Requirements

  • Prioritize Safety and Joy: Ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for children.
  • Communicate Effectively: Work with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
  • Teamwork: Works well in a team environment.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
  • Lifting Capacity: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Flexibility: Support additional local programs as needed.

Qualifications

  • Customer Service and Relationship-Building Skills: Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Education and Training: Possess at least one of the following:
    • High School Diploma/GED with 30 college credits in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field.
    • High School Diploma/GED with 600 or more hours of secondary training.
    • High School Diploma/GED with 15 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field plus 1 year of experience.
    • High School Diploma/GED plus 2 years of experience.
  • State Requirements: Meet state-specific requirements.
  • First Aid and CPR: First Aid and CPR certification required.
  • Tuberculosis Test: Clear tuberculosis test.
  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age.
  • CDA: Certified Development Associate (CDA) preferred.

Pay

$15.00-$18.00 per hour (based on education and experience)

Schedule

Monday-Friday; 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM and 3:50 PM - 6:00 PM
