Part-Time Donation Services Associate - Simms Store

About the role

This position greets customers and accepts their donations in an efficient and courteous manner. Associates work outside in all weather conditions and must provide excellent customer service. Donation hours are Monday through Saturday 8AM to 8:30PM and Sunday 9AM to 7:30PM.

Pay

$16.45 per hour. This position is eligible for Daily Pay—work today, get paid today through our partnership with DailyPay.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers promptly and assisting with donations, including lifting or unloading items from vehicles
• Handle donated goods with care and sort them into appropriate bins or production areas
• Inspect donations and make quality decisions to sort items for the sales floor or shipment to other locations
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean environment in donation areas and parking lots
• Maintain remote donation centers, sheds, or trailers, following opening and closing procedures and ensuring supplies are stocked
• Track and report donation levels daily to prevent overstocking at remote locations
• Communicate when donation warehouses or trailers are full and a truck is needed
• Follow all retail center and donation center policies and procedures
• Assist drivers in loading and unloading donations onto trucks as needed
• Follow all safety processes to ensure a safe working environment for employees and customers
• Cross-train in other departments or areas and act as a backup when required
• Report to store ADC or stand-alone donation centers as necessary

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• One year of retail experience preferred
• Ability to make decisions following Goodwill standards and guidelines
• Basic computer skills for logging into systems, ordering supplies, and email communication
• Ability to work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures
• Ability to use safety equipment such as dollies or pallet jacks
• Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Effective communication with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers
• Willingness to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and occasional overtime
