Part-Time Donation Services Associate - Powers Store

Part-time positions available. Hours for this position are 12 PM – 8:30 PM. Pay: $16.45 per hour.

About the role

The Associate I, Donation Services is typically the first point of contact for customers dropping off items at retail centers and/or stand-alone donation centers (ADC). This role provides excellent and friendly customer service by greeting customers promptly and assisting as needed, including lifting or unloading donations from vehicles or other areas. Associates handle goods with care and work outside in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greet customers in a timely manner, and answer product questions as needed.
• Assist every customer by unloading donations from vehicles or other areas.
• Ensure donated items are handled with care and sorted into appropriate bins or production areas.
• Inspect all donations and make decisions on quality to sort appropriately for the sales floor or shipment to other locations.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean environment for customers and employees within the donations entrance and parking lot areas.
• Maintain remote donation centers, sheds, and/or trailers, following opening and closing procedures; ensure supplies are well-stocked.
• Track and report donation levels daily to prevent overstocking at remote locations.
• Communicate promptly when donation warehouses or trailers are full and a truck is needed.
• Follow all retail center and donation center policies and procedures.
• Assist drivers in loading and unloading donations onto trucks when necessary.
• Follow all safety processes and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Cross-train in other departments or areas and act as a backup as required.
• Report to store ADC or stand-alone centers as necessary.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail experience preferred.
• Ability to make decisions following Goodwill standards and guidelines.
• Basic computer skills to log into systems, order supplies, and send/receive email.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures.
• Ability to use safety equipment such as dollies or pallet jacks to assist with lifting heavy objects.
• Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with occasional overtime.

Schedule

Donation hours at stores are Monday through Saturday, 8 AM to 8:30 PM, and Sunday, 9 AM to 7:30 PM. This position works 12 PM – 8:30 PM.
