Part-Time Donation Services Associate - Coal Mine Store

About the role

The Associate I, Donation Services greets customers and accepts their donations in a courteous and efficient manner. This position works outside in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a timely manner and answer product questions as needed.
• Assists every customer by unloading donations from vehicle or other areas.
• Ensure donated items are handled with care and sorted into appropriate bins or production areas.
• Inspect all donations within assigned areas and make decisions on quality to sort appropriately.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean environment for both customers and fellow employees.
• Manage remote donation centers, sheds, and/or trailer if applicable, following appropriate opening and closing procedures.
• Track and report on donation levels daily to prevent overstocking of trailers.
• Communicate when donation warehouse and/or trailer(s) are becoming full and a truck is needed.
• Follow all retail center/donation center policies and procedures.
• Assist drivers in loading and unloading donations onto the truck when necessary.
• Follow safety processes and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Crosstrain in other departments or areas as required.

Requirements

• One (1) year of retail experience is preferred.
• Must be able to make decisions by following Goodwill standards and guidelines.
• Basic computer skills to order supplies and send/receive email.
• Able to work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures.
• Able to use safety equipment to assist with lifting heavy objects such as a dolly or pallet jack.
• Able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
