Part-Time Donation Services Associate - Broadway Store
Pay: $16.45 per hour
About the role
This position greets customers and accepts their donations in an efficient and courteous manner. You will work outside in all weather conditions and must have excellent customer service skills. Donation hours at our Retail Centers are Monday through Saturday 8 AM to 8:30 PM and Sunday 9 AM to 7 PM.

Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers in a timely manner and answering product questions as needed.
- Assist every customer by unloading donations from vehicles or other areas.
- Handle donated items with care and sort them into appropriate bins or production areas.
- Inspect all donations and make decisions on quality to sort appropriately for the sales floor or shipment to other locations.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean environment for customers and employees within the donations entrance and parking lot areas.
- Maintain remote donation centers, sheds, and/or trailers, following appropriate opening and closing procedures when working at a remote site. Ensure supplies are well stocked.
- Track and report donation levels daily to prevent trailers from becoming overstocked when working in remote donation center locations.
- Communicate promptly when donation warehouses and/or trailers are full and a truck is needed.
- Follow all retail center/donation center policies and procedures.
- Assist drivers in loading and unloading donations onto the truck when necessary.
- Follow all safety processes and procedures to provide a safe working environment.
- Cross-train in other departments or areas and act as a backup for other areas as required.
- May be required to report to the store ADC or stand-alone center when necessary.
- Job duties may extend beyond the tasks listed and may include additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- One (1) year of retail experience is preferred.
- Must be able to make decisions by following Goodwill standards and guidelines.
- Must have basic computer skills to log into a computer system, order supplies, and send/receive email.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures.
- Must be able to use safety equipment to assist with lifting heavy objects such as a dolly or pallet jack.
- Able to obtain Powered Equipment Operator certification to safely operate equipment, including hydraulic baler and forklift.
- Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
- Must be able to work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
