Part Time Dietitian
Overview
UnityPoint Clinic- PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) is seeking a Part Time Dietitian with flexible Monday-Friday hours. Under supervision by the PACE Program Manager, this role plans and provides nutritional care for Siouxland PACE participants as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team. Responsibilities include assessing nutritional needs, developing and implementing nutritional care plans, and evaluating and reporting results. The position requires maintaining professional competency and skills for professional practice.

Responsibilities
- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable PACE Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, the Compliance Accountability Program, Code of Ethics, and other policies to ensure adherence.
- Obtains and evaluates nutritional and medical history, laboratory data, test results, current medications, diet orders, and nutritional regimen to determine participants' estimated nutritional needs.
- Recommends and implements nutrition interventions to maintain or improve nutritional-related medical diagnoses.
- Completes nutrition assessments for participants per regulatory guidelines and as needed to assist in developing participants' plan of care and service delivery requests.
- Instructs participants, family members, staff, and contracted providers/facilities on diet, food safety, and sanitation.
- Documents pertinent participant information in the electronic medical record (EMR) and the participant plan of care.
- Attends Interdisciplinary Team meetings daily and team activities when scheduled.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- After January 1, 2024: Master's degree in dietetics or a degree that meets the requirements of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Individuals credentialed as Registered Dietitians prior to January 1, 2024 are eligible with a Bachelor's degree in dietetics or a degree that meets the requirements of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Successful completion of an internship or coordinated undergraduate program that meets the American Dietetic Association guidelines.
License(s)/Certification(s)
- Registration or registration eligible with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Licensed or licensed eligible with the State of Iowa.
- Current CPR/BCLS certification.
- Maintains current Adult Mandatory Reporter status.
- Maintains American National Standards Institute accredited food protection/safety certification (e.g., ServSafe Food Protection Manager/Certified Food Safety Manager) or obtains within 90 days for new hires.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Valid auto insurance.
