Part-Time Deli/Bakery Manager

About the role

This position leads daily department operations in a retail store, ensuring staff are trained, fully staffed, and operating according to company standards to meet performance goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory ordering and maintenance, ensuring product freshness and quality.
• Review received orders for accuracy, condition, and proper storage.
• Supervise team activities, including stocking, production, and handling spoiled products.
• Maintain product knowledge, store promotions, and sales features.
• Ensure adherence to food safety, safety guidelines, and cleanliness standards.
• Implement work schedules, labor control, and manage payroll expenses.
• Develop departmental goals, forecasts, and monitor performance metrics.
• Participate in meetings and communicate plans effectively.
• Lead staffing, training, performance management, and career development of associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; retail experience and supervisory skills preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership ability in a hands-on environment, with strategic planning and business acumen.
• Knowledge of retail operations, management systems, and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Depending on location, Spanish communication skills are highly desirable.

Physical requirements
