Part-Time Dance Instructor/Choreographer

DivaDance is a popular brand offering pop music-inspired dance classes, live performances, video shoots, workshops, and parties. As an instructor, you'll have the opportunity to make a difference, grow professionally, and enjoy teaching to a diverse audience.

THE GIG

You’ll be the lead instructor for DivaDance classes, teaching original choreography to adult students. The ideal candidate is charismatic, experienced in choreography and teaching adults, and responsive via phone/text. This role is perfect for someone looking to earn extra income while loving what they do.

• Complete the online Instructor Development Program before teaching your first class.
• A $100 deposit is required to start the online training and will be returned after 3 months of teaching.
• The Instructor Development Program includes online training, warmup and cooldown sessions, and choreography video submissions. Support from the HQ Development Team is provided throughout the process.

To ensure compatibility with the DivaDance class format, applicants must take 3 DivaDance classes prior to starting the Instructor Training Program. Email the classes you're interested in trying to reserve your spots for free.

HOURS, COMPENSATION, LOCATION

• We seek instructors to teach at least 1 (up to 2) classes per week, typically during the lunch hour, evenings, or weekends.
• We bring classes to existing facilities; no physical location is provided by DivaDance.
• We may request assistance at our 4 studio locations, including Moxie Fitness Studio in Pineville, NC at 7:30PM on Wednesdays (8:30PM on the first Wednesday of the month) and 11:30AM on Saturdays.
• You should have reliable transportation and arrive 20 minutes early for classes.
• Vacation time and schedule adjustments can be accommodated up to 6 weeks in advance. Otherwise, you can swap classes with DivaDance staff to cover classes.
• Compensation is tiered based on experience and starts at $30 per class.

Additional benefits include participation in DivaDance’s performance programs, video shoots, and workshops. Staff members receive a 50% discount on Member pricing and free classes to attend any DivaDance class they are not scheduled to work.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• You must have experience teaching and choreographing for adults.
• Bonus points for former dance team, drill team, or cheerleader experience.
• Applicants must submit a video of their original choreography as part of the application process.
