Part-Time Custodian

Role Overview

Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in school facilities to support student learning, play, and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep buildings, sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean.
• Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting restrooms, and washing windows.
• Maintain grounds through yard work like grass cutting and tree trimming.
• Ensure safety by checking exit doors, panic bolts, and reporting repairs or emergencies promptly.
• Assist with opening and closing school buildings, securing doors and windows.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed for activities and requests.
• Follow safety procedures for waste disposal and operate maintenance tools and equipment.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of custodial practices, safety procedures, and maintenance tools.
• Skills include attention to detail, following instructions, operating equipment, and effective communication.

Working Conditions

• Indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to various environmental conditions.
• Physical demands involve heavy lifting, extensive standing, walking, reaching, bending, and manual dexterity.
• Routine operation of maintenance machinery is required.
