Part-Time Custodian

About the role

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety of school facilities through various cleaning and maintenance tasks. Reports to the Head Custodian.

Responsibilities

• Perform major cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and disinfecting surfaces.
• Clean restrooms, wash windows, and perform routine maintenance like replacing light bulbs and filling dispensers.
• Assist with minor repairs and report major issues promptly.
• Prepare facilities for use, ensure security by locking doors/windows, and assist with summer clean-up activities.
• Maintain grounds by pulling weeds, removing rubbish, and snow shoveling when needed.
• Maintain professional relationships, submit data, monitor communication, attend meetings, and complete paperwork as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to perform essential functions, lift up to 55 pounds, push/pull at least 20 pounds.
• Effective interpersonal and grooming skills.
• Physical ability to navigate stairs, bend, and stand for extended periods.
